The MG brand probably needs a brief introduction because the former traditional British company has nothing to do with it anymore. The MG brand is now Chinese and owned by SAIC, which in turn is a joint venture partner with Volkswagen. Therefore, the MG also benefits from VW’s know-how, which the company emphasises.
The MG ZS EV, the brand’s first model, has been the second top-selling electric vehicle since 2017 and the first facelift came out towards the end of 2021. German inspiration may have flowed into the design, too, as the ZS EV looks like a cross between VW’s Tiguan and Mazda’s CX-3. On the other hand, the diamond grill seems to have been borrowed from a W176 Mercedes A-Class with the AMG package.
The MG ZS EV is a compact electric SUV with an exterior length of 4.3 metres, and the boot can accommodate a maximum of 448 litres of luggage. A 105 kW synchronous motor is able to bring 353 Nm of torque, which accelerates the SUV from zero to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds, and it’s maxed out at 140 kilometres per hour.
With a fast charger, the 44.5 kWh battery can be charged to 80 percent in 40 minutes and has a range of 263 kilometres according to WLTP. This range is mediocre at best in the class, however, it’s more than sufficient for city driving.
The standard equipment also makes you sit up and take notice because even the well-stocked base version has niceties such as lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control on board. That base version is also the cheapest EV on sale in Australia today.

1. Answer: After you fill out a quote request form, you’ll be sent a text message to complete your request on your smartphone. This will include taking and sending photos of your switchboard, desired charger location and more. All of these questions have been carefully curated to ensure we provide you with a fixed-quote.
2. Choose: Our quotes include a recommended EV charger based on our assessment of your home as well as two alternative EV chargers for you to choose from. All options include the delivery, installation and activation of the EV charger quoted at a fixed price — making it easy for you to choose. We also have an installation only service for homeowners looking to have an existing EV charger installed and activated by a technician.
3. Install: We’ll then send you an invoice for payment. If you ordered your EV charger with revcharge, you will receive it before this date. If you have an existing charger you want installed, just let your technician know when booking your installation. Once the EV charger is in place, the installer can also help you connect any apps for the charger and show you how to use it.
