What to consider when choosing your EV charger
Single Phase or Three
Phase Power?
Single phase chargers can deliver up to 7kW of power, and are suited to single phase homes – that is, have only one line of supply from the grid. Three phase chargers can supply your EV with up to 22kW, and are compatible with homes that have three lines of supply from the grid. Triple the lines, triple the power supply.
Tethered or Untethered?
revcharge stock both tethered and untethered charging systems. For convenience and security, a tethered system comes with a cable attached that easily plugs into your EV. Alternatively, untethered systems have detachable cables, for tidiness and flexibility.
App Connectivity
While most chargers come with smartphone apps, some do not. It’s important to evaluate whether or not this is an important feature that you will need as part of your charging solution. Some apps allow you to monitor your charging duration and maximum power input. Other more advanced apps also allow you to optimise your energy usage through scheduled charging to make use of off-peak tariffs, or by using self generated power such as through your solar system.
